Took delivery of the piece yesterday - VERY nice looking. Now all I have to figure out is how to take that M8 bolt out from the engine mount, it feels like someone went to town when they tightened it!
Thanks to Charlie K and the Holy Grail Labs, this really is the Lord's work.
Follow-up: Finally was able to take the M8 bolt out, with the help of a piece of pipe to increase leverage on my ratchet wrench. After that, the bracket went in with little effort.
The only challenge was to mount back the "fuel tank breather valve" or "evaporative purge valve" (part 13901726705, #1 on here:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpa ... Id=13_0189). Turns out that in my M30B35 conversion, the evaporative purge valve was hung from one of the M8 threaded rods at the bottom of the intake manifold (no idea as to where is its stock location in a native M30B35 setup). When I installed the Holy Grail bracket, I realized that the steel tab that holds the evap purge valve (part 13901717023, #3 on that same diagram) had a bit too much "meat" around the mounting hole (some 1/4" all around) and was conflicting with the downward swoop of the HG bracket. I thought of crafting some tab extension to install the evap purge valve in a different configuration but there wasn't a ton of give, and I didn't want to mess around with hoses and such, plus the harness connection for the valve was right there. So I opted to go to town on the steel tab with a Dremel cutter, and trimmed it down to a neat 1/8" around the hole. 10 minute job to make it very nice and even (not as nice as the HG bracket, alas), and it was all resolved.
