M30 b34/b35 oil level sensor wire diagram help?

Post by AJ »

Does anyone know if it's possible to splice a m30b35 oil level sensor plug end into a m30b34 oil level sensor? or if there is any diagram showing what each wire is? Thanks

Wiring diagrams are available for download here: http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm

Look at the "Active Check control" diagrams.

 Thanks helped out a lot

E28..... E34
Static oil level: Blue/Violet..... Blue/White
Dynamic oil level: Blue/White ..... Blue/Yellow

Don't have access to the car at this moment, did some reading and I remember the e34 had 3 wires and the e28 has 2 wires. Would the extra wire on the e34 be ground? but the reason why the e28 only has 2 wires is because it's grounded through the oil pan separately?

It seams so, although the diagram indicates it is not case grounded. 0670-10 (ground distribution) denotes that the oil level sensor is grounded by wire to G102 (at the fender), while 6216-2 (active check control) displays it is grounded by wire to G103 (engine ground).
