SLVRBULLIT'S 535is build

Post by RonP »

Yet another cool e28 project currently moving forward at Vintage Motorsport Group! This is Jose Gatchalian's 535is that we are doing an M30B35 swap, Ireland exhaust, Ireland sway bars, Ireland big brake kit, dash, etc. We have completely removed all front suspension and are painting everything before re-install. This will one hell of a build! I will try to keep on on the progress!!!

Here are "before" some photos:

Yes, please do. I enjoy your work greatly plus build, upgrade and restoration threads are without question imo the most informative and entertaining reads on this forum.

Ah looks interesting....Ron
Ron consider painting that shiny muffler black......it looks much better from the rear unless you go with chrome tips. Hmm how would I know.......

The progress is coming along! The new front suspension is on as well as the new big brake kit and we are breaking down the M30B35 and getting it ready for the re-seal and install. Here are some photos.

What do you do internally while you've got it that far apart?

Looking btw, as usual.

Ron P, Very interesting. Are those BBS LM's? They are my favorite wheel. Did not know there was an E28 fittment. Tim

Tim, they are knock off LM's and are 17x8&9 et20. We did a compression check before installing, but all new gaskets (including the head), new water pump, timing chain, guides, rails, etc. Here are some pics of the motor that is about to be installed!

Ron, If you can, can you send me info on the wheels or hook me up with dealer (if not you). I would need 5. I assume the quality is high and weight is something normal. Thanks, Tim tljonesco@aol.com

I saw SLVRBULLIT'S car in person last Friday at Ron's shop. You could eat off that under carriage, it was spotless! Ron and John operate a first class business, but you all knew that already.

You think the LM reps look good in these pics, you should see them in person. I might have to rethink the style 5s I was going to run. Ron, if you have an unmounted 17x8, could you please

So...this is what the big boys do with their $$

I always get so much satisfaction out of doing things myself, but this would be a happy exception to that rule. :alright:
