M30 engine from 535i FS

Post by John Boelte »

I've got an engine from junkyard I bought 10+ years ago that I need to get rid if. The junkyard said it came from a front end collision, he showed me an E28 dash cluster with an odometer that read about 40,000 miles. The oil is very clean, the engine turned over easily (had compression, but spun freely), and shows evidence of a front end collision, fan has a couple blades broken. I don't think there's and alternator or starter, no computer; pretty much just the engine.

I kept the engine as a spare for my 535is, but right now it's taking up needed space. I live in Central Indiana, I'll be putting it on my trailer to get it out of storage. I could also include a new Harbor Freight HD engine stand and engine hoist. I don't have to sell these, but I don't need them at this point and they take up room I need or don't have. I'd be willing to deliver for a fee to IL, KY, OH, and MI. Any further and my delivery would get pretty expensive, lol.

I'll be posting pictures if there's interest. I rather not scrap the engine; I'd rather have a BMW enthusiast get it.

I'm not expecting much. Let's start at $500 for the engine; I'm not stuck on that number, let's talk. The engine stand, crane, and delivery can be negotiated. I'm not in a hurry.

Is this a B34 or B35?

Thank you,

Paul, it's a B35. It has 35 embossed on the block.

I have the engine on my trailer; I'm going to cover it with a tarp. Hopefully someone wants the engine. I'm not going to keep it for long. I'd hate to see it go to the scrap yard.

If you want pictures, PM me your email and I'll send them.

If it originally came out of an e28 then It’s a b34. B35 only came in late e24, e34 and e32.
