FS: 1985 alpinweiss 745i

Post by doug »

When I sold my euro e24 in 2010, I picked this car up as my new project. After driving it home from Elk Grove, I parked it in the garage and it's been gathering dust ever since. Very straight body and good original (I think) single-stage paint. Blue interior in good condition. The car is CA BAR stickered and registered non-op. Only minor surface rust as shown.

I'll be moving sometime in the next two years and really don't think I'll have the time to give it the attention it deserves. The car is not currently drivable on the road: it hasn't been driven in 10 years, the windshield has been removed, rear hydraulic shocks are blown. There's a new aftermarket windshield sitting in it's place but it hasn't been installed. Comes with new factory windshield gasket. No battery. Starts/runs/drives.

$2300

I have some additional parts that I will be selling separately, or with the car if someone's interested, including
  • factory windshield
  • near-perfect dash
  • Bilstein shocks and Bavauto sport springs
  • factory foam trunk spoiler
  • complete g265 conversion kit
  • e39 BBS RC090 Style 5 wheels (set of 5)
  • euro headlights (no grills)
  • Nakamichi CD400

Ugh. They worked in preview mode.

Okay, I just checked and they are showing up just fine for me. Is this some kind of sick joke that google photos is playing?

Okay, well I guess I should have been suspicious when I couldn't view the photos in the How to post photos using Google Photos thread.

Back to the drawing board ...

Okay, think it's fixed now. Permissions/sharing issue.

How far is this from being a Sunday driver kinda car? Would you be willing to get the windshield installed? I'd have to trailer it home to NM.

Definitely needs some TLC, fluids replaced, fuel lines replaced, stuff like that. Rear shocks absolutely need to be replaced to take it on the road. And tires. I was holding off on the windshield since it's easier to replace the dash with it out. That was the plan, at least.

I had this exact car when I was in the USAF stationed in OKC but couldn’t bring it back to California because of the smog issue.

I am located in the SF Bay Area.

I am very interested in this car, or one just like it.

I want a 745i ! If anyone knows about one of these already in California please let me know, best car I ever had and the most fun!
