From looking at the other cars in this guy's shop, if he says this is a good driver, I'll take his word for it.

That's Roy Wicklund's (RoyW on the board) old car. An extensive build thread on the board - "Project Sepang" . A spectacular example - saw it at Vintage a few years ago. Recent RNM on BAT.

1986 BMW 5 Series 528E - $1,995
Mileage: 181,849

986 BMW 528e Rust free!!! I just bought this last Friday and have been driving it from Lehi to West Valley City for work and have been enjoying every minute of it. I found another E28 that I want more and my wife said I could only keep one so this one has to go. I did a fresh alignment on it and replaced all the power window switches in my short time of ownership. The last owner did the following
-Inline fuel pump
-Both rear CV axles
-Water Pump and coolant bottle
-Brand new toyo tires
-Have the factory bottle cap wheels as well
Things that need to be looked
Oil leak looks to be coming from valve cover
front suspension has some pops
rear suspension has some pops
does 90mph no problem tho
the 5 speed transmission shifts smooth
engine runs extremely well starts up with the first turn of the key and runs smooth REBUILT TITLE DUE TO TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN NEVER BEEN IN A WRECK. I am available monday to friday 10-7 to show the car its parked in my warehouse where it will stay tell it sells. I have a title in hand.

1986 BMW 5 Series 528E - Ogden, UT -$7,500

This 1986 BMW 528e was a European delivery example that remained with the original owner in Southern California until 2016, and was acquired by the second owner, a dealer, in December of 2018. The 3rd owner acquired the vehicle in January of 2019 and then I purchased this beauty on July 30th of 2019. The car is finished in Alpine White over Llama leather, and power comes from a 2.7L M20B27 inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. A timing belt and water pump service was performed in late 2017, and ignition components were replaced at that time. The fuel pump and brake pads were done prior to the seller’s purchase. More recent work included replacement of the driveshaft, suspension components, and engine oil, as well as the installation of 14″ bottlecap wheels and newer Falken tires. This E28 is offered with a clean Carfax, service records back to the date of original order and California blue plates.
There is a small crease on the right front door, a shallow depression at the back of the roof, and normal stone chips and light pitting are shown on the front fascia, windshield, and lenses, and the bumpers display light oxidization. The exterior can be seen up close in the gallery, and no accidents or damage are noted in the provided Carfax.
Small cracks are visible on the dash top and the factory cassette-radio remains in place. Side view mirrors are inoperable, and the instrument cluster was rebuilt and air conditioning compressor replaced under prior ownership. VDO gauges include a 6-place odometer showing 152k miles.
Here is a link to a previous sell of the vehicle that goes into more detail. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1986-bmw-528e-10/

BMW 1987 M535i (JDM) - $29,900 (Boulder)

https://boulder.craigslist.org/cto/d/bo ... 86256.html
Iconic mid 80s BMW E28 design in very good condition. Enthusiast owned and brought back to excellent mechanical condition. Paint/Body has various nicks and scratches but no dents and no rust. Stock three speed automatic transmission swapped for a period correct 5 speed. I love this car, but need garage space. It is a perfect combination of four door practicality, sophisticated highway manners and canyon carving fun.

Rare Japanese market car (LHD) = Factory Euro Bumpers w/Factory Mtech airdam & spoiler
Factory asymmetrical European headlights
16" BBS Style 29 Wheels
185K Kilometers (116K miles)
Grey cloth MTech interior with BMW manual sports seats
Garaged – No rust, clean inside and out
Getrag 265 5sp manual gear box; M30B34 Motor

"JDM"
Oh yeah, that rare one that was made in Japan for their domestic market

travisj:

The last JDM Bimmer I saw up close and drove was a gorgeous, low-mile 1987 M6 with LH drive, as God intended. That configuration wasn't unusual for 80s BMWs, which were built in Germany back then, going to Japan.

I don't know this particualr M535 but don't believe there's anything inherently suspect about it being a LH drive JDM car.

I'm just commenting on the misuse of the acronym "JDM" (Japanese domestic market) which is intended for products manufactured in Japan for the sale in their own domestic market.
I actually have own a 1987 DC89 Japanese-spec M535i
