Dave,
You have a PM.

Got the bracket today, looks beefy! Thanks, Dave!
I won't know how well it fits/performs until I get it into the car with the manual conversion. Glad I can install with the assembly out of the car - looks like a bitch of a job inside the car.

Re: PEDAL BRACKET Reinforcement / repair - REV. 5-welded tab
I finally got around to installing the bracket that I ordered last fall... I must not be quite as sharp as the guys who installed theirs in a half-hour, because my install took a bit longer than that (more on that later.) I don't know if my bracket was cracked, but it sure felt like there was some flexing going on before. Now the clutch pedal feels better and is more consistent than before. Awesome quality product! I can't understand why the Germans didn't do something like this from the get-go.
In case it's of any help to anybody else, just a reminder to READ THE FLIPPIN' INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM!! I did read the instructions but probably not thoroughly enough. I saw that the instructions wisely talk about doing one clutch master cylinder bolt at a time so that it doesn't move while you're bolting up the plate, but didn't realize the importance of doing the lower bolt (closest to the firewall) first. I took the other one out first, then tried fitting the plate in place with the lower bolt sticking through the captive nut, and it wouldn't fit. So long story short, it ended up taking far longer than it should have if I had followed the instructions to the letter. Mr. Pepin knows what he's talking about; just follow the procedure that he sends with the plate, to the letter.
Thanks for a great product, Dave!
