Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000) -- DESERVEDLY CRUSHED
Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000) -- DESERVEDLY CRUSHED
Yes, I'm about to post a for-sale advertisement for a friend of mine, and I'm not including photos. I explained to the owner that there should be at least a couple photos and he will try to oblige; he is most concerned about the car going to a good home:
Super Eta needs a loving home. My friend and his car are currently in West Palm Beach, Florida. Car requires a charged battery to run, four new tires likely to be registered. One of the last 5-speed super etas made (VIN: 9833224). Under 300k miles. Odo broken at 250k. Timing belt done in 2009; plan to replace it.
I have not seen this car in a couple years. It is definitely NOT a looker. Clearcoat non-existent on flat surfaces. I believe the color is bronzit, with a clean pearl beige leatherette interior when I gave it to him (taken from my old 528e!!). There is rust but I do not believe it to be major. Car has an issue with a possible bad caliper; you should plan to tow the vehicle away.
But this car has pedigree. Original Owner. Purchased in Indiana in 1988. The owner was so attached to this car that he took it with him wherever he went, so it has lived in both Europe and the Middle East. Car is multilingual and multicultural. 26+ years of service records. No mysteries or stories. All details revealed.
Owner is not willing or able to part the car, so don't bother asking.
PRICE: $999 or Best Offer
PM or EMAIL me for more information. Owner is motivated and does not have much time left. I will connect all seriously interested.

Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000)
What's so unreasonable about this? Sounds like Steve is nowhere near the car and is simply helping a friend out. I know I've done it before. It's not like it's a $5000 car. It's not even a $1000 car. It's $999. It's got more info than ads for cars four times the cost ($3996).
Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000)
I agree. I was just blowing Steve some shit in jest.
If this car were near me id be taking a close look.
Also, to be fair to Steve, he made it clear this is not the actual ad, just a heads up.

Oh, please, I can take the "ribbing"
Yeah, that's what she said...
Looks like one of our fine list members nearby has offered to check it out tomorrow and see if he can at least snap a few photos. I hope that doesn't impact the price negatively.

Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000)
The car is located in the Beach of Palm and it would cost a lot more then the car is worth to get it anywhere close to you.kaiream wrote:hope there will be pics. i am on the island of long and somewhat interested. for the right price that is
Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000)
Yeah, sorry, all, when I quipped that photos might negatively impact the price... I realized my recollection of the car was sadly accurate when Wayne sent me the photos...
I believe, with Wayne's help, the owner was given the necessary reality check about the true value of his E28. I have not heard from him yet but I believe he will take off a couple strategic parts, and donate it to the crusher. If, as I had requested of him, I had seen those photos first, I would never have posted an advert here in the first place and gone directly to the therapy session.
Trust me, if I post a photo of the sunroof, some of youse guyz heads are gonna explode.
Thanks for your indulgence.
I'll go back to looking for American bumpers that don't look like ass. (and will likely give up on that and buy new )
.steve.
p.s. This was more about a person who loves E28s knowing when to say goodbye; as most of you know, that is NOT easy.

I cannot believe he sent this car to the crusher with the intact Euro headlights still installed. FML.
Car is no longer available.

Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000)
Wow, I could use a laugh right now. I just stumbled upon these photos of this shitbucket car that this manipulative douchenozzle never should have had the balls to ask me to try to sell to you all. I knew and have always known this guy was the biggest kind of asshole I have ever encountered in life -- he wanted to be my E28 buddy so much when he saw my cars... ugh, I can't stomach people like that. Why was I so kind?
Anyway, enjoy these shots of a $250 car -- $250 is what he should have been charged to drag it to the crusher.
I *GAVE* him my pearl beige leatherette interior (plus floor mats) for this shitbucket, unknown to me it would go into such a piece of garbage. That is why you see the one photo of the interior showing a spotless pair of seats and a clean floormat surrounded by filthy disgustingness...
Again, apologies that I tried to "sell" this piece of shit for a piece of shit.
And finally, the beautiful roof. I wonder if it leaked.

Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000) -- DESERVEDLY CRUSHED
Not seeing any cracks in that dashboard. Hope it was pulled before being crushed, eesh.
Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000) -- DESERVEDLY CRUSHED
everything looked sort of OK until that photo of the ROOF. Reminded me of the now infamous photo of THE LUNG ravaged by Covid-19. Do not, I repeat do not, look it up on Google.
that's sad. Looked like an otherwise straight car. Hope many parts were able to be pulled...

How does that even happen? I was already thinking of buying a dehumidifier for the garage, needless to say it’s on it’s way now.
Re: Super Eta Needs A Loving Home (Under $1,000) -- DESERVEDLY CRUSHED
Is this still available? A friend is interested.
