This is my new baby! I have some good interior shots within the video. Still needs to professional detail because it hasn't been driven since 2005!
I just finished wrapping my e21 orange and it came out pretty great so I am debating on wrapping the e28 (gloss light blue).

wow love the cardinal!
Glad you liked it! That interior was much nicer than it appeared in photos. Sometimes I wish I'd kept the car. Oh well... On to the next one!

Installed manual Recaro seats from a MKIII VW GTI. The rails theyre on are meant for my E21 so i had to fab up some mounts to make it work.

Also changed the steering wheel. This also used to be on my E21. Bought a hub adapter from Ireland Engineering by way of TurnerMotorsport. Its a MOMO bolt pattern. The only marking is "Dino". Not sure of the exact model or size, but me having long legs appreciate the size difference. Although it does cut off the tops of the speedo and tach.

Also got a new Shift Knob and boot because the knob was no longer staying on the stick and the boot, well, the boot was no longer a boot. Went from old shitty leather and a vinyl knob to nice M-hurricane cloth boot and leather wrapped knob.

Loving all of these so far... except the cardinal. Not my style, yuck! Here's a shot I took yesterday, new knob and shift boot. Wheel could use a reupholster.

My e28, with original black leather Recaros, still original leather, I have disassembled carefully to restore each part from the seats.

Hi Michel,

I can see this a post from some years ago, so I don't know if you still read this forum, but just wondering, the floor carpets, where did you ge them from? Were they in the car? do you think one can still buy these somewhere?

Thanks!
Best regards from Belgium,
Kev

First off, that interior is beautiful. Second, I see we're running the same head unit. Nice.

I only ran that head unit for a while and switched back to the previous one: Blaupunkt SQR-88 Woodstock from 1989-90. I went old school cassette deck (with an AUX input on the front for the MP3 player).
I found the Continental lacking in mid and low ranges (even with the massive a/d/s/ audio system behind it).

Shame, that. I mostly listen to podcasts in the car, so, never really noticed too much of an issue. With that in mind, I love the way the Conti unit looks in an e28, and the ease of use of having the bluetooth auto-connect to my phone.

I get that, my unit was the very basic version with only AUX & USB inputs. My only concession to modernity was the AUX connection on the Woodstock.
