LMFAO at this question. Sorry, but it's just funny because it involves ALSO swapping an S54 motor. Go read my Mineva thread. ;)

Subscribed.

If not for the amazing cross-discipline restoration skills (much respect - I am in awe), then for your black car spreading the gospel across Europe, of 16-inch Style 29 wheels on E28s!

On the E28 Sport Seat vs. "Comfort" seat dilemma - we'll have to agree to STRONGLY disagree.

At least we seem to align on the thought that the 5-spoke atrocities the car came with had to go, and I commend you for getting rid of them. Not sure if I like your replacements (bigger than 16" - hmmmm) but they are not the others.

Cheers! keep'em coming

I had filled AC last week - worked for a few hours then the AC pipe burst and let all the gas out. Good thing that I just parked the car and was able to diagnose what pipe was leaking. Removed the bastard and had the rubber hose replaced. Already mounted with new O-rings but I haven't refilled the AC yet.

There was some rust bubble in the rear passenger pillar corner that I had repaired and I finally picke up the filter box and wiper arm blades from the paint shop.

Next on the agenda is having car detailed and ceramic coat applied since I think I am finished with mechanic work.

I have replaced the cluster plate that indicates speed and mileage to euro one. It now indicates speed in km/h and mileage in km. I have converted miles to km as well.

Also I had it polished and a ceramic coat was applied.

That's different, as most US owners that buy euro cars maintain the cluster's euro effect.

Euro ones are more desired plus its hard to see lower speed ond dual dials - 50km/h speed limit for example.

I have received a downpayment for my 535i. So next month it will get a new owner to pick the car from Germany.

We have agreed to have valves adjusted from my side. So I took it to my friend who adjusted the valves and a new valve cover gasket was installed.

Also since the buyer is driving the car back (1000 km) I had the alignment done as well.

Quick wash before going back to storage to wait for the new owner.

I didn't realize you were doing all of that work to sell the car. Did you get a chance to enjoy it all after all of the work you put into it? Whatever your answer, thanks for sharing the story with us.

Did enjoy it indeed in summer times.
I never build cars for resale since with all this work there is 0 profit. For resale it should be sold the minute I got it :).

But I realized that with 15 cars I have to sell some and I sell the ones I have the least amount of time. Would keep them all but storage costs are too high for all (around 10 cars in manageable). And I have a chance to buy an e28 m5 PROJECT :) that I said I would buy if I sell both 535s.

I completely understand. Thanks for the explanation, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and the M5 project!
