BMW 518i 1985

Post by bryanv »

I am Bryan, 24 years old from Belgium and I bought this 518i from 1985 in November 2020.
In the meantime a lot of work has been done on the car and it already looks much better than when I bought it.

- Oil change with all filters
- New master brake cylinder
- New brake pads en discs
- New wheel drums and cylinders
- New ignition coil, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor
- New belts, water pump and overhauled alternator
- New fuel hoses
- New brake hoses
- Calipers overhauled
- New viscous fan unit
- E34 front seats
- Electric antenna
- New chrome strips around windscreen and rear window

Good looking car, nice find! Body looks clean and straight, and the swap to the classic basketweave wheels looks great with the delphin grey.

E28's are getting so rare to see now, I'll bet you get a lot of compliments.

What's the ferris wheel looking architecture in the last pic? Cheers

I always enjoy seeing people on the road looking at my car and sometimes getting a thumbs up.

That architecture is the atomium in Brussels, Belgium

Here in Belgium there are very few E28's, a few months ago I was at an classic car meeting where there were 2 other E28's.
