Thanks to photobucket, this thread got a lot less interesting. Oh well.

The head is assembled and it's nice to have it done. Interesting to see how bare it looks without the mess of retaining springs.

I noticed an issue while fitting up the remaining bits and pieces - the cam lift when combined with the billet rockers is too aggressive for the oil spray bar to handle. Slightly annoying but not a disaster. The question now though is how I attend to the issue. When I have a spare moment, I'll figure something out.

That's it for now.

I love aftermarket parts so much for that reason. Looks really nice though!

What does the mfg of those rockers say to do? How could they design them such that they interfere with the spray bar?

I think it's more of a combination of two aftermarket parts that don't work together. The rockers probably work great with a stock cam.

Just finished reading the whole thread. Very nice build. I do too prefer high revving na over turbo. Are you going to rev it to 7k or something?

Looking great!
Any idea what ECU you will run?
Curious to see what mods need done to the thermostat housing.
Did you modify the throttle bodies as well to match the 12 valve shape?
Are there going to be any mods to the cooling channels or oil passages?

If photbucket hadn't photofucked all the pictures, you'd see that yes - extensive porting was done to the cylinder head, gasket matched to the adapter plates and the throttle runners. The thermostat housing is next on the list of hurdles that will need addressing, it'll be a case of flipping the top hose outlet and cutting ~45 degrees off it to re route the hose under the TPS. No further mods to the cooling/oil passages needed.

As for the management, I plan to run the car mafless with open trumpets so will need something that can do the job. At this stage I'm leaning towards a Haltech for that reason and due to the wealth of local support but that may change.

Bringing this thread back from hibernation. It would be so nice to be able to see the photos... could they get re-hosted?

Sadly a lot of those images will be very difficult to dig up, if they still exist at all. If you have a specific request let me know and I’ll have a look through my archive.

I’ve neglected this thread, but not the build. Maybe a ‘roundup/reflection’ post to shutter the process is in order.

The wayback machine has archived at least parts of this thread, you may be able to pull from there.
