If he does, it's news to me. He's just really good at that stuff. I don't have the patience for it. Plus, it seemed like he was kinda running things here. I don't own an E28 M535i anymore. :(

This is a nice one, and it's more or less a twin to mine. :) It has the super rare roll-up window shades on the rear doors - the only e28 I've ever seen with those.

I've been dying to see photos of these things, but he's bogarting all the rear window shade viewing.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It seems like it's not necessarily new ones being added so much as the old ones are changing hands. But I'll get to it soon; the list is a bit behind the times.

Oh and Jim: you need to wash you car. You're making the rest of us look bad ;) .

Aw, Vince, I thought maybe you had added another to your herd, perhaps that little number offered to be imported from the other side of the pond.

PS: From the looks of your car in pics from this past summer's concours, no one can make your car look bad. :alright:

Missed this! The rear shades are a neat option to have. They are all in good shape and functional except for the rear quarter windows. One of the blinds is missing and the other isn't functional. I'm hoping to replace these as part of the spring refresh I have planned for the car once the weather warms up. We should get our cars together next year!

My old car is back in my hands... The ownership chain is like this:
Vin is 0641988
Diamond Black with Pearl Beige
Owner 1 was Clark Cook former BMWCCA president in the carolinas I believe
Owner 2 Russel Dejulio(sp) also down in the Carolinas
Owner 3 was Dr Bob Grill (I was his service advisor on car when serviced at JMK BMW, NJ)
Owner 4 was me for a while. In NJ.
Owner 5 was Grahamular in MD (thanks for the new trans buddy!)
Owner 6 was Me again, then coowned with Mike K and now owned by me in NJ and shared with Mike when he wants to drive it.

Refitted back to the original TRX M-Tech wheels with new tires.

Car is now 100% back to stock as it left BMW with the exception of BMW upgrades. I have even fitted the car back with all the original shifter linkages, etc to eliminate short shifter. All filters, wires, cap, rotor, etc are all from BMW. I am sure there is some better stuff out there, but car is going on 30 years old next year. If it survived this long using BMW parts, they are doing something right.. The only upgrades are:

Diff from Kat car 3.25 big case (thanks Chris graff) in place of 3.07 big case
Rear E34 M5 brakes.
Shadlowline Trim (Completly new as ordered by me when it was all available. Installed about 10 years ago or so)
Fully functional headlamp wash/wipe system

Car resides in Monmouth County, NJ.

Congrats Tim, I've not seen the car but it sounds sweet. I for one appreciate the dedication to factory stuff on these cars. It's nice hear hear you're so fastidious about it.

I always enjoyed looking at that car in photos. Would love to see some current photos of it, though I guess it might be a lot like looking at the brochure. Haha!

I just realized looking back through this thread that I never added my '87.

2/87 M535i Lachssilber-metallic over Schwarz leather.

Yar now owns my old 6/85 Alpinweiß/Pearl Beige car.

You are 100% correct. As a matter of fact, right down to the pinstripe. There is a page on the inside of the brochure that shows the optional "Shadowline" trim. That's it!

I will get some nice pictures going when the weather gets better. I look forward to the comments from you guys!

I suppose I should chime in, since I never formally "registered" with this thread before. :)
