WOW, That is a failure I have not seen to that degree before!
Any thought of the root cause?

Thank You Jeff. I also Have never seen this type of Failure in 14-15 years of m30 ownership.

I did hear an unknown noise that comes and Goes. It was thought to be alternator. And when I went to park my car. It Just Suddenly Kaboomed. Note this water pump is only 2 months old. So I'm confused. Bent the wp and ps pulleys.

Please let me know what you find.

Curious, does the water pump still spin freely or are the bearings locked up? Just wondering what failed first, the bearings or the casting. Also, what brand was the pump?
