WTB Solid 535i Hood
Looking for a 535i hood that is in relatively good shape, straight and with no deep rusting (surface rust is acceptable). Does not matter the color as it will be sanded and repainted Anyway. Preferably to pick up in the New England area, but will travel a bit further depending on the hood condition. Thanks all.

I have a couple. Where are you? I travel through NE often.

fancyganci, all E28 hoods are the same, so you don't need to restrict yourself to 535i hoods.

Re: WTB Solid 535i Hood
Isn’t the under hood liner different? I seem to remember issues with the liner getting caught on the throttle cable if you have the wrong one? Although I guess the hood itself is the same if you are replacing the liner with the correct one? (Glued on vs full coverage that clips on?)
Re: WTB Solid 535i Hood
The 528e has a big cover plastic screwed on and the 535 has pads. Who knows what's better! I tried making pads and did OK but next time I'd cut them w a turkey carving knife as that's apparently good for cutting that type of thicker foam and making more attractive angles. But the 528e pad does look a tad more professional.

The liners are different, but the hoods are the same. You can swap liners. I don't recall anything about any throttle issues, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.jc72 wrote: ↑Jan 23, 2023 5:33 PMIsn’t the under hood liner different?
