The switch surround looks great, Jim! The fit and finish is top tier too. Thanks again.

Thanks Nathan. That pic looks much better than mine at showing the surface texture.
I have 12 painted pieces left from this batch.

Thanks Jim, was out of the office late last week, it was sitting on my desk when I got to work this morning. It looks great.
Re: Any interest in a laser cut light switch surround?
Forgot to mention that 2 of the holes will need screw clips, namely these 2 holes,
Screw clips are these, which I'm assuming everybody has plenty of

Re: Any interest in a laser cut light switch surround?
Received my paint surround yesterday. It looks incredible and thank you so much for doing this. I hate to ask for a part number for the screw clips.

Re: Any interest in a laser cut light switch surround?
I installed mine today. Instead of the screw clips, I mounted mine on top of the old piece. After trimming off the top of the old one (you can see where it was broken), I put the new unit on top of the old, and then installed both into the steering column surround. I put the screw of the bottom left in first, and then the bottom right. Once that was done I then put the whole surround back in.
It looks fantastic! Thanks demetk-much improved over the factory piece. (edited to add that I turned my foglight switch back to the correct side up-Laphroaig has that effect sometimes)
What I was living with-entirely annoying and you can see the broken upper left corner.
The old piece after trimming off the top with a mini hacksaw.
Finally! Much improved over the factory component!

Whoah! I'm behind the times; just realized you're shipping the painted/powdercoated versions. I just sent payment for mine. Thanks!
Re: Any interest in a laser cut light switch surround?
Got mine today. Very nice. I was going to ask about the two holes that the screws actually thread into but the answer is what I expected. Thanks!

Not sure of the BMW part numbers on the clips but I ordered a bunch of them from amazon. If they fit I'll post the dimensions of them.milarsky wrote:I hate to ask for a part number for the screw clips.

Can anyone confirm that the below RealOEM image and ECS links are correct for the body nut and the accompanying self-tapping screw?demetk wrote:Not sure of the BMW part numbers on the clips but I ordered a bunch of them from amazon. If they fit I'll post the dimensions of them.

To anyone interested, I highly recommend one of these! Not made of some flimsy air duct aluminum, this is the real deal. +1 for quality here
