Re: PEDAL BRACKET Reinforcement / repair - REV. 5-welded tab
received my revision 5 bracket today. can't wait, actually i can, to install it. not looking forward to contorting for the install. i did notice, however, an inch and a half or so crack. i'm hoping this bracket will help resolve this. or do i need to replace the clutch/brake pedal bracket completely? that seems like a major PITA.

UPDATE:
installed my roth pedal bracket reinforcement. took a wee bit longer than i'd anticipated, about 2 hrs. there's not a whole lot of space underneath in the pedal area. i used a 10 ml offset box wrench to remove the original bolts (# 2&3) in dave's installation instructions. #1 came off easily with a 13ml deep socket.
reinstallation was a bit dicey as well. #1 screw went on pretty easy. #'s 2 & 3 were trickier. i had to remove the nut/bolt from the master cylinder piston to in order to line everything up to reinstall dave's bolts. if you don't you'll be spending way too much time and energy trying to force them to realign. it took me about 10 min to figure this out. i was able to get #3 nut to go on the bolt but lost #2 nut and the extra one as well. i couldn't get my fingers around the mc to install the nut. i'll get it on there, it'll just take a few more attempts.
clutch pedal play feels solid. my pedal doesn't return all the way, however. i think i may have a bad slave. going back under in a few days to check this out.
btw: my original bracket has a 1 1/2 inch crack in it and i realize that there was more play when engaging the pedal than i thought now that the roth bracket is installed.
big thanks to dave for his insight in making this bracket and making it available for the rest of us.

Mine went in a couple weeks ago and it's a great improvement! Thanks Dave.

I've got an '85 Euro E24, so if one of these will fit, and if one is available, please send me a PM with payment instructions and I'll send the PayPal ASAP. Thanks.

Payment sent.
I haven't looked at my e23 pedal bracket yet to check for myself, but are they also prone to this failure?
Edit: Thanks, Dave. I got that part in the mail before I even started looking for it.

Nice elegant solution, never saw this thread. Hi from MN, I'm in Mendota Heights!
Doublechecked parts CD to see if pedal bracket was shared with the E12 but they look completely different so since I'm E28-less I don't need one of these.

Endorsement/Testimonial: I am very happy with this as my clutch has never felt better, nor have I ever felt more confident in it. As everybody seems to say it is only a matter of time before they crack. Solid Seller!

Re: PEDAL BRACKET Reinforcement / repair - REV. 5-welded tab
Just received my Rev 5 pedal bracket today and beleive it or not it exceeded my expectations, which were high to begin with.
I was informed about this pedal bracket by a friend who is a master BMW mechanic and he is helping me bring back to life a 1986 BMW 535I and he suggested this would be a worth while investment. I checked it out on this site and it looked to be a very well designed solution for a under designed OEM bracket. I immediately sent Dave an email and the correspondence started. Within 24 hours of my first sight of this posting I had successfully had the part on order, even having to use a friends paypal account because I do not have one.
The bracket was shipped on Saturday and I received it today. Now here is where my expectations were surpassed.......usually when you order something off the internet and it's not from Apple it shows up in a crappy box, poor packing, no instructions and if there is any hardware it's from China and gets pitched in the garbage. When the box arrived from Dave it was just the right size and was well taped for security, it had more than ample packing material, parts were in a labeled baggie for protection and communication, the hardware is superb and for the final finally the instructions included pictures and the photo copy looked to be an original.....not a copy of a copy of a copy.....etc.
Now, the bracket was beautiful, but I could see that much from the photos contained in this site but still I love to see a custom designed steel bracket with Zinc Chromate plating......it is a masterpiece. I know it sounds as if I am a lunatic at this point but really just a design engineer who has seen the service levels and products in the USA diminish so much over the last decade that when I have a positive experience all the way around I feel the least I can do it spread the word about it to any one that will listen.
When the bracket is installed I will provide photos of the finished product.
The bottom line is Dave you have out done yourself with the product and service you are providing to the lucky e28 community.
I would pretty much buy any goods that I need from you for my car brother!
Good Luck!
