So someone mention i wont need hub ring since the wheels are from a e38, but what spacers should i get? i was looking into these http://www.autozone.com/autozone/access ... 972862_0_0_

Will i need longer bolts after using the spacer?

Please help.
Why do you think you need spacers?

And hose are terrible spacers, these are much much much better.

i ended up getting 4 Potenza RE-01 225/50/16. Should i get those 5mm spacers from the link you posted above for the fronts?

e38 style 5 that I ended up getting some 215/55/60Goodyear Eagle GTs... very tight but they fit and look great! I don't think the 225/50/16s would have fit w/o spacers. I need to take some pictures for you all but they look great!

Hello. Wanted to refresh this topic since most of the tire recommendations on this threads (and other e38 style 5 wheel threads) has been a bit dated now to the tires that are out there in the market.

Similar to all here who has responded, I also have an e38 style 5 16x8. What tires have you guys been using now that fits? Still using the same tires? Any newer models that fits the same as the ones recommended here? Ideally if I can, I wouldn’t want to use any spacer if possible.

Does the BFG G-Force Sport that everyone’s been recommending the same fit as the BFG G-Force Sport Comp2? Is that an updated version? Same exact fit with no rubbing?

Also lots of people here seems to still like the Continentals. Are these still the same size 8 years ago?

I am also curious about a tire update after all these years! Just picked up 16 inch e38 style 5s wheels for my 87 535is.

I fitted Goodyear Efficient Grip Tires back in 2014.

205/55/R16 up front

225/50/R16 back aft

Fitted to a 1985 525e with bone stock suspension and body.

No spacers or rolled / cut arches.

These were a couple of dB's quieter that the competition and reduced road noise entering the cabin.

Have had no issues with them and would consider replacing them when due with the Efficient Grip 2 now on the market.

Best regards,

Mick
