3 pin connector broke off

I was looking under my car one day and I accidentally tugged a 3 pin connector next to the starter it basic broke off I was wondering what that was for.

Probably electrical.

I don't have one in my car so I can't tell you what it does.

But you can get the electrical manual from www.e38.org/e28,

middle of left column or the wed phones link, bottom of left column. The ETM has connectors located and sketched in the rear of the manual. Get the one for your car.

Need more info, it doesn't ring a bell right off. For starters, is it a 28e, a super e, a 33, a 35 a ///M or euro. A pic would also help. A little involved, but how to post one is right here. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=147488

84 533i but one has to research that instead of the OP stating it.

I don't know why folks don't start their problem posts with wtf car we are talking about. I know there are a lot fewer E28 models than some of the later codes but heck there are still 13 models with 4 different build destinations to consider.

It can be the plug for the oil level sensor
It can be the plug for the alternator/starter signals (if modded wiring for M1.3 or seta)
It can be a lot of other things :laugh:
