Central Door Locking Issues

Post by sixseries »

I installed a keyless entry and it worked great, but after a few months it started to slowly degrade (i.e. sometimes i would lock the car and it would immediately unlock). Now it just won't lock at all. This occurs whether I'm trying at doors or trunk. It's interesting, with the keyless entry hooked up, I can't use the key to unlock the car at all. i.e. if I try to manually lock the car, I can't turn the key in the drivers door. But with the keyless entry removed, i can easily "lock" the car (it still immediately unlocks itself after). I read some old posts and it seems it could be a sticking lock door lock. I also plan to check the wiring. With what I describe, are there any obvious culprits?

Thanks
Brad

I think you're going to have to start isolating individual components.
