Questions on the m30 oil filter housings

Post by e38740imd »

im looking to install this oil cooling adapter to my turbo car

the block which is either a m106 or dinan 5 block does not have the plug in the block. i am not sure what oil filter housing was on it before i bought it as it was not present.

this is the adapter: https://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac--- ... p2420.aspx

since i am eliminating the b35 house with the check valve. do i add the plug in the block or dont even worry about it and send it?

also this block does have the factory drain in the block

here are pics of the block

i dont want to mess this up when it time to start.

i will be using this adapter to run an oil cooler and run an inline oil filter

what are your thoughts. i have all the parts to do what i described but need to know if i need to plug the inside the block or not.

Thanks in advanced!! :D

You should plug the drain hole in the recess AND make sure those large ports don't uncover either or both sides of the divider so that you don't get a "short" between the two sides.
