Missing Bolt

Post by Topround »

Hello all,

While I was removing the ECU harness from my 535i, I dropped one of the bolts for the crankshaft position sensor bracket. Using Realoem I've determined which bolt I dropped, but unfortunately the part has long since been discontinued, and my hunt for it on the usual places has turned up dry.

the PN is 07119903174, if anyone knows where I can find one or if they have one to sell, that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance

Realoem claims it's a M6x55 bolt, anything that size will work. Your local hardware store probably has one that's close enough in length if not 55mm exactly.

I always throw those useless things away, at which point I need a different bolt anyway. I'd measure the thickness of the bracket it goes thru, subtract that from 55MM and get that at the hardware store. Probably 40MM although it might be 45. While you do need a bolt there to minimize oil leaks, it's a basic bolt, any generic 6MM will work as long as the length is correct.
