I've gotten this question a couple times so I thought I'd clarify: the website says "sold out" at the moment as a placeholder, preorders haven't actually started yet. I'll post here when preorders go live.

As a status update: the manufacturer ran into some issues (the part is quite difficult to assemble) but it looks like these have been resolved, I should have the sample units in about a week. We're getting close!

In for one- and if it is as advertised, at least two more.

Hi everyone!

Yikes I wish I had seen this earlier, I have my 1987 e28 535is in the shop now for electrical check-ups (possible rodent damage), I would have totally ordered one of these! would have been perfect timing

Anyone know if there is a chance it may become available again in the near future? (the website says its sold out)

They haven’t sold any yet. See post from Galahad, 4 posts above yours. They’re still in the works.

It's been a month, time for a status update! Due to some disagreements with the company I had manufacturing these, I decided to change to in-house production. This introduced some additional delays as I wait for equipment and do a couple test pieces - that should be done by mid-next week if nothing crops up.

The electrical design, layout, and BOM are all finalized; manufacturing is the only thing remaining to work out.

The kits will continue to be available after preorders close, so don't worry about missing out if you miss the preorder window.

Yes, these will also work in E24s and E23s that have the E28 fuse box.

You may certainly ask, but I do not have an answer at the moment. I'd rather not make a claim and then not be able to meet the deadline due to unforseen issues.

PRE-ORDERS ARE LIVE! Order here!

The final manufacturing tests went better than expected so I'm actually ahead of my estimated schedule for once.

I hear mention of a vdrop - meaning, I assume, Voltage Drop...
And being the "Mo Brighta" lighting guy, to me this means lights that are 'Mo Dimmer' ... Pure Evil!

So I am 110 percent in favor, good work Sir Galahad!

Thank you!
Speaking of voltage drop, I did some resistance testing of both my fuse board and a stock fuse box (no melty, I'd say better than average condition, it's in my project car). I had to clean the stock box contacts and the fuse with sandpaper, before that I was measuring a couple ohm due to corrosion. All that to say the measurements below reflect a "good" e28 factory fuse system, not one with low spring pressure or melting issues.

25A fuse:
Stock: 6.8 mOhm
Mine: 2.4 mOhm

socket -> 25A fuse -> socket (total resistance in the fuse box):
Stock: 26.8 mOhm
Mine: 5.8 mOhm

Even ignoring all the problems the stock box has with vibration and corrosion, my replacement board has significantly lower resistance than a clean factory fuse box - all the better for brighter lighting!

Hello from Sweden.

Can you please check the total cost shipped to Sweden, so I can order and pay for one of these.
