Climate control panel interchangeability

Does anyone know if all climate control panels are the same? I need to replace a broken panel on a 533i. I have searched for this and haven't found an answer. Thanks!

The mechanical assembly that controls the vent sliders is slightly different between early and late cars but the plastic panel is the same. You can just swap over the mechanical parts.

+1 to SlickDizzy, you just need to change the sliders from one to the other.
I'm not sure about the lighted sliders... I think there was a change there but i might be wrong
