seal strip removal question

I have a new floor carpet to install in my 84 528e. Does anyone have a notion about how to remove the plastic outer seal strips anchoring the carpet without breaking them. I assume that they are held in place by some sort of metal spring clamp. Thanks much. John

You mean kind of the threshold strip, hardish plastic ~3" wide? I slide it one way until I uncover the first trim anchor, then pull up and pull in the other direction to slide it off. They've got some flexibility, you couldn't fold it in half, but bend enough to get them out.
