Today I was checking and adjusting the valve clearance on my E12 but on one eccentric bolt the tread is stripped with the nut still on it. I can't get the nut of now cause it stays pretty thight. Any suggestions how to get it off? I havent worked on M30's for 6 years or so.

Too many abrasive particulates.

We call it a nut splitter, but I don't know what you would call it.

I'd call it "my ex".

And buy the best "nut splitter" you can find. The cheap ones aren't worth much, they cleave badly, and don't have enough tensile strength - it's as if they are made of material that is too soft, so they don't cut. I have two.

Are those nuts regular steel or hardend steel?
