Nylon washers/spacers on rear window lifter regulator

Post by blockerb »

While working on repairing my rear power windows on my 1986 stock 528E I noticed that there are a couple nylon washers or spacers used on the window regulator arm that slides on the slotted arm inside the door. I noticed mine are fairly worn, and the reason it wasn’t working is that one of them was worn out enough that it had popped off of the little retainer pin that kept it on the slotted piece, not sure if this makes sense as you’re reading it but I’m curious if anyone knows what this part is I can’t locate it on realoem.com. All I can think is to maybe order a set of nylon washers from Amazon, but I’m not sure that that will work as I’m concerned they will be too stiff as these , nylon spacers had a little bit of flex to them and seem to only serve the purpose as a buffer between the metal sliding parts so that they would move fairly easily. Any helpful direction would be

updating with some additional detail. below is the link to the part number on ECStuning.com and a link to the image showing the nylon washers I'm looking for.

part number on Realoem is 51351846568. Unfortunately, Realoem doesn't isolate these parts separate from the full lifter unit.

here's link to the full part detail on ecstuning...

If these are NLA, they can be fabricated. If there were enough demand, I could make them on my CNC mill.

I'm not familiar with those parts, but if you have an Ace Hardware in your area it may be worth browsing there to see if they have something that will work. I know they carry a variety of rubber and nylon washers, or there may be something in the faucet rebuild section of plumbing area.

This. Basic hardware stores often have a dumbfounding amount of small pieces and parts. Hardware store, not home improvement or building supply. Ace. True Value (if they haven't gone belly up) Not Home Depot or Lowes.

Hillman makes a number of nylon shoulder washers. Probably have something that will fit.
