Caig Deoxit - rubber cleaner and conditioner?

Post by stuartinmn »

I was looking at the Caig website - for those not familiar, they sell a line of products under the Deoxit brand that are excellent for cleaning electrical contacts. Anyway, I noticed they also have a product called CaiKleen RBR, which is a rubber cleaner and conditioner. It's apparently meant for use on the rollers and platens in printers and copy machines, but they say it will "clean and recondition any rubber item, and makes rubber items more flexible and durable". I wonder how it would work on old BMW weatherstrip.

It appears to be available in several different size bottles, you can get the small bottle at Amazon. https://caig.com/shop-item/caikleen-rbr/ https://www.amazon.com/CaiKleen-Liquid- ... B0009JFF5W

There has to be a more cost effective alternative!

Right?!! It would cost about $7,000 to do all the rubber on an e28. :D

Caig products are not cheap. Been using them sparingly for years on electrical needs. Haven't tried the rubber conditioner.

There are a few different rubber conditioners out there for tape deck pinch rollers that cost a lot less. Doubt it is the same as Caig. MGChemicals probably has one.
