Bilsteins for e34 are ~ $73 per @ rockauto.com

Post by Martin in BellevueWA »

Just replaced the 4 year old sachs boges struts & shocks on the '95 540i with new bilsteins. These are not the hd/sport bilsteins that I think ride poorly. This 540i has H&R springs, moosehead upper control arm bushings and moosehead rear shock mounts, https://mooseheadengineering.com/#!/Sph ... ry=1512126.
Added akg motorsport bump steer correction plates https://www.akgmotorsport.com/product/b ... s-12-inch/ this summer; they're great.
Don't love rockauto charging shipping twice, when an order is fulfilled from separate warehouses.
The 540 does appear initially to rest higher by at least an inch, compared to the tired stuff that was on there. Bet it settles soon.

Yeah, you really have to watch Rockauto and shipping. Once I saw a great price on shocks, for I think it was the E36. Turned out they were shipped from England and shipping was astronomical. I passed. But... at times they do have just crazy low prices, especially on closeouts. And at times they even have stuff nobody else seems to want to carry, like wiper inserts. But you have to be careful on shipping.

RA has been, at times, the only place to find Bosch WR8 spark plugs cheap. Sometimes ridiculously cheap (like a buck cheap).
