TexFest 20/20 October 8-11, 2020

Post by Pavel »

We all need some good news! I know its unheard of, but for a second year in a row we are going back to the same venue!

ANNOUNCEMENT: TexFest 20/20 plans are in, and so are the dates and location. READ ALL!

Where: Canyon Lake Cottages and Cabins http://www.clcabins.com/
When: October 08-11 (YES, a 4-day event)
Who: YOU!
To Book: Call (830) 935-3430 and mention BMW event. Only reservation method is over the phone.

We have managed to secure the entire Outback (in red on the map) to ourselves until 5-15-2020. I expect us to fill up the whole place, again this year. The owners and staff are super excited to have us back again! We worked very hard to find a weekend, on a rather busy venue.

The front cottages are also available. Not secured for our weekend. Still mention BMW event. The Large ones were a hit in 2019.

We made arrangements that if for some reason, we are not to have the event DUE TO LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL restrictions, we will have a rain check with the deposits intact for a future date with the same accommodations for a date of our choice.

The deposits go as follows Small - $40 Medium - $60 Large - $80 It won't be refunded if you don't show up! If you cancel 24 hrs before October 8 you won't be charged for Friday, and of course the second night. You know the drill.

Price is what it says on the website for Mid Season.

Small - $95 before Tax
Medium - $175 before Tax
Large - $215 before Tax

Pets are allowed, BUT you have to make a note, as not all cabins are with the right accommodations.

What was it - "Is it October, yet?"

Keep as posted as you book, or if you are looking for roommates.

Booked unit 12. Last year was a lot of fun, and I didn't even bring a car.

All,

Only 2 small cabins up front, and 3 larges are left (also up front).

Let's get this place jam packed again!

At this point it's more like just an e28 with some MK parts as my real MK car is more rust than metal at this point. I'm slowly acquiring some of the MK parts I don't have but I'm not sure I'll go as far as a real clone. Maybe.

Let's do it! Full day of driving on Friday, on some of the best roads in the country - nebraskaE28 and ahab can attest.

The cottages are fully booked. Please call them direct so you can be waitlisted. Last year there were last minute changes, and people got in.

Also to get your shirt fill in this Google Form - https://forms.gle/zPRtgX3BPPUWAdZs8 - Make sure to select the desired quantities on the size you want, and mark the rest with a 0. For example I am having a S and L. My entry in the table will be S 1, M 0, L 1, XL 0, XLL 0, XLLL 0

Saturday full of festivities and even greater times.

See you in 5 weeks!

We are a WEEKEND away from #TexFest2020

Who is ready? Or not?

In the spirit of 2020, I have attached a DIGITAL pamphlet of all the events that are going to happen from Thursday (Check-in) to Sunday (Check-out). Make sure to read it. Quite a few of you have reached out and asked me what is the plan. Here is your answer 🙂
This is only our second time in the history of TexFest doing a 4-day event. Don't worry if you can't make it Thursday night. We will Meet and Greet on Friday too!

Driving Route for Friday ->>>>> https://goo.gl/maps/T6zHc6UHAWVCYtDJ9

I am finalizing some of the lunch options. The dinner plans for Saturday are just like last year, same place. We will have a catered BBQ, with a cover cost of $800 at the Cabins! We did great taking care of that in 2019. Lunch for Friday and Saturday will be discussed on Thursday, but also planned as a group. You can imagine in this climate it's hard to find a restaurant that can accommodate us all. But I have worked on options, together with Wyatt and Sean.

One thing you don't want to miss on Saturday at lunch - our group photo!

Oh and don't forget to check the Competition!

I encouraged a few new faces to come out if they can break free for an awesome off the grid event. Unsure if they can make it but the seed has been planted! An e24 in Texas and an e30 in Colorado.

Take the E30. With your driving skills, you should still be in front of the pack. :haul:
Unfortunately, I won't be able to join you. After little work since March, we have suddenly fallen into a hefty workload under a tight deadline.
