Drive 4 Corners is proud to announce that our D4C 2020 event is open for registration! The event will take place August 27-30, 2020 at a new venue!

For the 10th annual gathering, D4C will take place at Mount Crested Butte, CO. The resort operates a ski destination in the winter as well as a summer getaway destination in the summer. This location was selected with hopes to improve the lodging and accommodations for all D4C participants as well as providing access to scenic mountain roads in the near vicinity.

The group driving route to Crested Butte will take place with over the freshly paved Cottonwood Pass and will surely provide an exciting drive into the host hotel. The unique location means that each day of the event will provide opportunity for participants to drive different routes every day and explore mountain roads based their driving preference.

Reserving this venue means that event registration price is inline with Purgatory a few years ago. We have struck a deal with the hotel with reduced lodging costs to offset the increase. To see information about the resort and lodging details, please visit this link.

That would be great, i'd love to see your car and FI is perfect for the 9,000 ft home base in Mt. Crested Butte.

Planning to bring my 535is turbo as well since last year was the 540i.

Hey all,

I am back in the saddle, after three years of searching for just the right motor for my '86 535i.
My cam was totally grooved, she failed her e-test two times in a row, and so she got a vacation.

Found a motor from a low miles 735i, same year, and into the abyss she went. Wheee!

I think I am definitely making plans and coming to this, FINALLY! As long as Mister Covid - 19 allows ...

Tim, shoot me an email or PM, we should talk... or you can call.

Andy

Virus Concern Update – Drive 4 Corners

With the most recent world event of lock downs, restrictions, and limited travel due to coronavirus (Covid-19) concerns, it has been difficult to forecast what may or may not be open during the planned Drive 4 Corners 2020 event.

For those wondering about the status of the event, and if the plans have changed in any regard, we wanted to issue an update for our participants:

At this point in time (May 2020), the property in Crested Butte is on furlough. There are limited employees at the property due to the closure of the hotels, restaurants, and resorts in Crested Butte. At this time, we are still on schedule to host the 10th annual Drive 4 Corners driving and social event. With regard to the limitations on gatherings and restrictions on business’ at this time, it is difficult to gauge what impact there may be on our propose format. We have received confirmation, however, that our host is still scheduled to be operational in August in order to host our group.

Drive 4 Corners wants to ensure that our participants, volunteers, board members, and sponsors will all be able to gather in a safe environment come August 2020. We will highly urge that participants monitor their local health situation and make participation decisions for their own overall health and well-being. If there is a concern for health, please make your own determinations on participation in August!

It is the intention of the Drive 4 Corners Team that we host a driving and social event in 2020, but we realize there is the possibility of restrictions on our gathering space, gathering size, or other components of the event we have planned. Please work with us to comply with any proactive safety considerations that may be mandated upon us

As always, thank you for your support of Drive 4 Corners– we hope to see you and your BMW in August!

Over the past months, there has been hope that Drive 4 Corners 2020, the annual social and driving event would be possible with eased gathering limitations due to Coronavirus concerns. However, as of this writing (June 2020), Gunnison County is still restricting gathering sizes to no more than 25 people. Restaurants are limited to 50% capacity and bars are closed. This means that the key social aspect of Drive 4 Corners 2020 is not going to be possible in two months from now.

Because of the concerns and impact of the social aspect of the planned 2020 gathering, the Drive 4 Corners organizing team has decided to cancel the formal Drive 4 Corners event
. Please bear with us regarding this news as we truly would have loved to host the 10th annual event as we have in the past. However, due to health concerns and the lack of operations, it was not possible to continue with the originally planned activities at our host hotel.

Existing lodging bookings are being held by the host resort, and the group rates will be honored. The planning team believes it still a worthwhile effort to organize a multi-day group drive focused on driving mountain roads and exploring new places. Therefore, a driving tour will still be held in August at Crested Butte, but it will focus more on group drives drives than ever before. Unfortunately, the usual group BBQ will not happen and other aspects of the event will be limited in size and scope. Those registered should have received an email describing what this means for their registration dollars.

Full notice HERE

We request those interested in doing the amended group drive please RSVP HERE to estimate total numbers and see those people who have RSVP'd.

For additional detail feel free to reach out to info@drive4corners.com or get in touch with me directly.

FYI, I will still be travelling to CB those dates and driving some of the routes and organizing the group drives as an individual. I hope others may still be able to join-- the more the merrier!
