Power seat switch decals (Installation Guide now posted)
Power seat switch decals (Installation Guide now posted)
How many members would like to see power seat switch decals made? I am relatively new to this forum & would like to connect with members before considering a pre-order thread in the classified section.
Although new here, I do have experience organizing group-buys for 2002 & e9 BMW's with great success-- hopefully some of that carries over.
More information can be found in the instruction booklet here:
https://issuu.com/mofaraz/docs/power_seat
Please let me know if you would be willing to be part of a pre-order group-buy to get them made for your e28.
Thanks to all members,
Mo Faraz

Re: Power seat switch decals
I suggest you edit your post to include a poll.
In any case, I don't get why you're asking if folks would like to see them made -- it looks as if they are already being made.

I just created a poll, thanks for your suggestion. That website is actually mine, I am offering the decals as a pre-order item that can be purchased as of right-now.
Because this is all new to me + forum members, I wanted to start on a positive note as my goal(s) are to create a decal that looks & performs properly & maybe make a friend or two along the way

Re: Power seat switch decals (Poll)
What is a power seat decal?
Re: Power seat switch decals (Poll)
Do you have plans for any other decals, like for wiper, blinker, and cruise stalks?
Re: Power seat switch decals (Poll)
The original power seat buttons had paint. This is a decal replacement that looks excellent & should last with clear protectant.L_N_Love wrote:What is a power seat decal?

Hi Davin, davintosh wrote:Do you have plans for any other decals, like for wiper, blinker, and cruise stalks?
Yes I can certainly make a repair-kit for all those functions. Can you or someone here PM me so I can discuss a few questions I have?
It will most likely sell for around $20 and will include (6) decal repair areas with a separate instruction booklet.
Thanks for asking,
Mo
Re: Power seat switch decals (Arrived!)
Decals have arrived & I am very happy with the results. I will be creating an installation thread showing how to attach each of the 3 sections + the final product.
If you are interested in buying a pair, PM me for PayPal.
Thanks,
Mo

Re: Power seat switch decals (Arrived!)
Hi Mo,
These look great.
I'm in for a set.
You have pm.
This could well be the solution to the problem that most of us will have with our 30 year old + switch indication wearing.
Have a look at a UK based forum "forum.bmw5.co.uk" as it may well provide another outlet for your talent. The majority of Euro / UK5 series were manual seats but there are plenty of E24 6 series and E23 7 series that used these seat switches.
If you are able to develop a range of decals for other switch indication wear issues then they all had headlight and indicator switches.
Good luck.
Regards,
Mick

Thanks Mick,
PM replied. I appreciate your suggestions & will head to the UK 5er site as soon as possible.
I agree that other areas of the interior can benefit from updated decals-- will take a look & see what originates.
Also really happy to make positive connections via this forum--Thanks again,
Mo
Re: Power seat switch decals (Installation Guide now posted)
My DIY installation guide w/pictures: To buy a set of decals, please PM me & we can arrange payment + shipping
Notes:
- I used brake fluid to remove remnants of old paint (works great & is safe on plastic parts)
- Use lots of time & caution when applying decals (one wrong step & they may get damaged)
- The process is simple: center graphic, rub down, remove sheet, clear-coat (optional but recommended)
Please feel free to ask me questions anytime,
-Mo

Re: Power seat switch decals (Installation Guide now posted)
For the seat movement buttons do you cut the decal before or after adhering it to the buttons? I'm guessing that you adhere it to the buttons and then cut it between the buttons before applying the clear coat.
Re: Power seat switch decals (Installation Guide now posted)
Great question. I transferred the decal as 1-unit across the button gaps....then used a very sharp x-acto to slowly cut the separation.Dave_in_VA wrote:For the seat movement buttons do you cut the decal before or after adhering it to the buttons? It works as long as your blade is sharp. I used a folded piece of paper to fold-in the edge-- a couple of passes and the results are as pictured.
Clear coat can be brushed on, urethane is recommended--
Hope that helps & thanks for asking,
Mo
Re: Power seat switch decals (Installation Guide now posted)
I have a few sets with defects to sell. These will be sold as a set of (4) & there is enough decals to complete 1 pair of seat buttons.
$12 + shipping if anyone here is interested.
PM to discuss,
