Robotic Overlords (and dogs)
Robotic Overlords (and dogs)
I, for one, welcome our new robotic over-dogs. Although the fact they come from Google makes me a bit nervous.

Now THAT is cool! I think the larger Bot towards the end falls into the Texas steer category. BTW… does this count as your Mye28 dog entry?

I think these "robots" are great. The stair climbing ability alone is amazing

First, to be clear, I don't take any of this seriously enough to be butt hurt about it. I long-ago got over really caring about corporations.Coldswede wrote:cek wrote:I, for one, welcome our new robotic over-dogs. Google isn't perfect but I doubt it is any worse than your chosen employers.

Re: Robotic Overlords (and dogs)
sThanks for the link, that was very interesting.
Let me clarify a few things;
First off, I meant NO personal attack towards you, that was not at all intended.
Second, I view all large Tech corporations with the same degree of trepidation, I was not defending Google.
Third, We best get used to it and find ways to defend ourselves and our privacy 'cuz no one else is going to.
Forth, I view Assange as an information terrorist, sure he doesn't kill folks directly but the things he says and writes most assuredly does/will.
Lastly, I am done with this thread, it will just go to Tailpipe.
Peace pipe?

Peace. Love. Granola.
That's my motto.
Oh, and I fully believe the singularity is near. Not as near as Kurzweil, but within a generation or two.

I like real dogs better.

Big military applications there.
Re: Robotic Overlords (and dogs)

At least nobody's trying to kick that guy over like that poor dog in the other video.

It's snake looking head on a four legged creatures body is rather alarming. Humans are so incredibly irresponsible to their own race. I'm glad I will be dead soon.
Re: Robotic Overlords (and dogs)
Someone should've warned me not to take a bong hit before watching that. I'm going to need some time alone now.
Re: Robotic Overlords (and dogs)
The arm needs googly eyes.
Everything Boston Dynamics does is both amazing and disturbing to watch. Except the sand flea, I want one of those.

Banana peels? Really?
Putting the glass in the dishwasher is a nice trick, but let me know when it's able to tell the difference between dirty & clean. How long until it's able to respond to a voice command like, "Clear the table," without pulling out a blaster?
Gotta wonder what was going on with the Coke can at the end.

Fuck me, looks like I need to load some more AP 7.62x51 NATO!
Or buy a .50. Definitely need to buy a .50.
