Upper control/Thrust/Tension Arm Assembly NLA?

Post by LeiseyJr »

Seeing the bushing is still available, not the arm from the usual sources...

layout the part number so folks know exactly which part you are discussing.

the only thrust in the ETK is the arm on the clutch slave.

If you are looking for a 'lower control arm" they are everywhere.
If you are looking for a 'upper control arm" they are everywhere.

I just bought and installed both...

I am referring to the upper control arm. I just didn’t see them on FCP and Autohaus. For getting a Lemforder.

URO is available

They do have URO as well as a Meyle for the left side available

On FCP euro, just the Genuine is available (left side only)

Nothing comes up for the right side (354)

Rock Auto is showing URO's in stock (I guessed on MY and model):

eEuroparts.com has their own brand (no idea whose it is, but they too show Lems and Meyle on backorder):

There's a bunch of them, brand wise, on Amazon, including some Lemforders.

Hopefully Lemforder or Meyle(even they have been iffy lately) will be more readily available soon.

After I've seen a friend with his cheap brand wheel bearings he got from Rockauto fall apart in less than 2000 miles, I wouldn't be too confident in the off brand UCAs.

FCP had the lemfoerders at 25% off last January. They probably sold out.

UPDATE: it appears that this part has been discontinued, according to bimmerworld.. Quoted: "NOTE: it appears this arm has been discontinued by all of the OEM suppliers. As of now (August 2021) BMW still offers Genuine thrust arms but at a premium price.."

Yikes, not good. The UCAs are practically a consumable on these cars.

Autohausaz lists the lowers but not the uppers. First time I've seen them not listed there.

I assume the bushings will remain available for awhile. Any machine shop can press in the bushings for a smallish charge, correct?
