Looks like the VIN checks out as a M535i. They were selling it for $9k on Craigslist, but with about 4 hrs to go it’s over $12k on ebay. Looks to be in decent shape, especially if it’s been in MI for any time.

I’m assuming he didn’t get what he wanted for it and declined the sale. If you read his eBay reviews, he has a history of doing so.

I'd be careful with this. VIN tag riveted in the wrong spot, weird stuff around the body vin stamped. Says it's a DC71 but it's got an auto TPS (makes me wonder about the motor a bit) front grille support is caved in too.
