Very nice! Why the secrecy with the pricing?
Re: For Sale Euro 735i - 5 speed 1983 - Black on Black (California)
I agree. It's not like E23's seem to pull high prices (no disrespect to the seller - I love E23's), even super nice examples seem to go for 4-5k (usually less) from what I've seen - I've passed-up several that were 2500 and were garage-kept family cars. The Euro aspect means this might be a gray market or European delivery car, before manufacturer's officially endorsed their own programs.

No secrecy guys, I do that to ward of potential tire kickers. If someone is serious they can simply message me. The car is indeed an imported Graymarket car. I have all of the import paperwork from Germany along with the window sticker also.

Re: For Sale Euro 735i - 5 speed 1983 - Black on Black (California)
Is the car registered in California?
Re: For Sale Euro 735i - 5 speed 1983 - Black on Black (California)
Currently not registered in California but if I get a California buyer I will do the smog. You can confirm with AAA's DMV Service that the car can indeed be registered here once smogged.
I currentl own 3 e23's, two from out of State I had to register in California. It was a simple process.

That sure is a nice E23 you got there! I sold my old one, almost identical to yours for around $6720 in 2020 in case you are curious on what to value it at. I think it's a fair price!

Thanks Daniel, I agree with you on the pricing. Finding a US 5 speed 735i is hard enough nowadays, never mind a true Euro 735i 5 speed. I drove it today and boy, she wants to just goooo....I love these old euro tanks
I may also entertain the idea of trading for a cool "euro e28 5 speed" or other cool Euro BMW's. Let me know what you have guys.
Thanks

Is that upholstery leather or leatherette?
Re: For Sale Euro 735i - 5 speed 1983 - Black on Black (California)
I drove this car, it is going to need some cosmetic help (dents on the trunk, rock chips in the front, rust on the bumpers) but it drives REALLY nice. Not sure if all e23s are like this but the shifter feel is very nice and notchy compared to my 535is with UUC short shifter. They both have G265s so I guess the difference is in the linkage. It pulls harder than my car too (euro compression and no cat) even though it's heavier. I think the indicated mileage is true. I would ditch the RC090s for 16"s with the correct hub bore and get a detailer to cut and polish the paint and remove the red pinstripes in the process, personally.
Re: For Sale Euro 735i - 5 speed 1983 - Black on Black (California)
Thanks for the review mate, up to now I have only had the opportunity to show it to two people due to the car being at my friends house. Its simply a hassle for me to go over there but I will set up a date for everyone to come view it on one weekend.
The car does pull rather well, I feel the clutch components have been refreshed recently. I came to find out it was missing two hub centric rings but I agree, I would ditch the 17's and throw on some 16's for optimal comfort. I may clean her up some more, replace the front chrome bumper strip that has some rust spots, replace the trunk that has a dent, throw on a new front nose piece I have or simply offer these parts for the next buyer with the car.
