Badass 4sp E23 F/S near Seattle

Post by SeattleGuy »

I thought about it for a minute but I'm not THAT into dealing with a heater core + blower + windows and I'd rather put the money into Maxine. But to be honest I'm posting it as a means of letting someone else have her because by God I am sooo tempted. $2,500 gets it done for sure.

Wow that is tempting, especially at that price.
(My wife just looked over my shoulder at it: "That is nice. Nice project car. No.")

There's a category called "Non affiliated" here for that.

True true I got confused though because I thought that section was ONLY for E28 cars?
Thanks,

I'm not enough of an E23 junkie to know exactly what year, but it is 80 or earlier with the 4 speed. But wow, manual HVAC! Woo Hoo, that alone is almost worth it. No vacuum pods everywhere? Seems like every car has a "worst thing" about it, E28s are the front end, E23s are the climate control, but this one is manual. Downside is 4 speed and low compression 3.3.

'81 I believe was first year with 5sp. Same year BMW went to the 1.8 on the E21. Many changes that year. Should have been busier getting my homework in 1981 (10th grade or so) than memorizing BMW stats but hey shit happens.

1979 or earlier with the E12 style HVAC controls, thermal reactors. 1980 still 4 speed manual, catalytic converter, manual pushbutton HVAC. 1981 5 speed manual. 1982 auto HVAC, Motronic, revised rear suspension. 1983 revised front end grille and dogbones added to rear suspension. (remember this is for US models).

Those seats are the most comfortable E23 seats!
