Feeler, one of only 499 BMW E34 540i 6-Speed Tourings

This is an original HK31 configuration, or in other words, one of the 499 produced manual 6 speed 540i wagons.
I’ve owned this car since 2012 and drove 130000 pleasing kilometers in it. (approx. 81000mls)
When I got her it was already equipped with a Vialle LPi installation which consists of 8 individual Liquid phase injectors, 2 ECU’s and a tank in the spare wheel area with its internal pumps. More info here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vialle

LPi was installed to reduce the cost per KM as our fuel prices are outrageous.
In the US there is little to no advance to drive on LPG because the prices seem to be the same. Unlike our little country where one pays approx. €1,60 for a liter of regular fuel, compared to only 0,58ct per liter of LPG. (in your words $6.70 for a gallon of regular compared to $2.42 for a gallon of LPG)
I didn’t really look into it before but you are actually able to get LPG in the US according to this site and map.

Enough info on the LPi system, I’m ready to sell the car!

I was planning on putting it on BaT, although someone local showed interest in her. It has done some serious miles, 284000 to be exact (455.000km) but it has been very well maintained.

The option list is pretty nice for any E34, especially being a Touring.
-A/C which always has worked incredibly well.
-Cruisecontrol
-Heated seats, just love them
-Sport seats
-Rear headrests
-Double sunroof that actually works well
-Sports steering wheel
-Sound system
-Sunblinds
Etc.

Maintenance wise this is a short list of what’s been done besides regular oil changes, belts and tires.
-Waterpump
-Clutch
-Shocks and springs all around
-Brakes all around (OEM discs and pads)
-Driveshaft
-Bushings in rear axle and UCA
Etc.

Besides all the maintenance the car got a full respray 2 years ago. The nose had several stone chips on both the hood and the fenders, also one door was replaced at this time.

I was thinking this car could still reach $10000 easily on BaT, but I would like your guys opinion on it.

18k on bat. Might have to wait til spring to get that. Risk is collapse in markets housing etc. It's a rad car. "the only e34 I'd buy - wagons"

Why? Now I'll agree it's really a better engine that might last twice as long, but at the cost of 100HP.

I guess I was off by $1800 give or take!

The M60 non vanos engines have no major timing chain issues from what I've seen due to the dual row chain with central sprocket. The 6 cylinder may actually be less durable or equivalent. The shorter v8 heads may improve head gasket reliability.

I do have a fun fixer upper 94 530i wagon with 207k and it runs very good and probably won't suffer from chain guide failure like the later U guide styled M62 and vanos m62 variants.

Fan of all these engines. Probably my favorite is the vanos v8 due to most familiarity. Its like an old friend I know pretty well.
