Post by brickwhite »

My 1988 535is sold On BAT

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-bmw-535is-18/

Sold for $8150 on BAT It think the Seller fee was $99 and Buyer fees were around $450.

LACHSSILBER METALLIC (203)

Diff - 3.25 LSD
Sport seats - cardinal red interior

Car drives as it should, Handles great. (would drive it anywhere)

Current Mileage shows - 77,8xx last I checked on car fax/ vin check that was pretty close to the last recorded reading.

I really cannot tell you actual mileage but the Odometer does work.

I Purchased Summer of 2018 out of Dahlonega GA hoping to own the car a long time, convert to auto and make it nearly perfect.....

I finished the Manual swap and the maintenance but didn't get to the paint...

other projects came up. And I have to sell one.

So the E28 has to go...

Only rust I found on the car is on the fresh air vents in hood.

No rust in the doors, rockers, shock/strut mounts, pinch welds, wheel wells or under the car.
All bolts came off easy.. nice working on a rust free southern car.

Did the price change on this? Thought it was 6950 range this morning but now has 8700 and new threads in online groups as well.

isnt it about time we make a rule about this? Just put SOLD in the title. leave the listing price, doesnt even have to be the final sale price but come on people

I agree there should be a rule about this. I don't have any good suggestions about preserving images - those a much harder.

In either case, I pulled the edited-once ad from the Google cache, taken Oct 17, 2019 17:38:56 GMT.

Ad from then is below the break.

Edit: I would like to make it clear to everybody that I am in no way claiming this car is available for sale on this forum. I am only preserving the advertisement as it was for future reference.

Totally agree, and from looking at the comments section of the auction, so did a bunch of people. Paint it and install euro bumpers, and this car sells for $15K+ all day long on BaT.

$15k minus selling price doesn't leave enough money to paint and euro convert properly.

Think the seller got what he was asking for the car originally or close to it, win win for both buyer and seller.

Me Likey! I think the sell is totally reasonable given the appearance and condition of this fine vehicle.
Maxine is a fantastic 15-footer with great potential and bones.
This car is all signed, sealed, delivered as Stevie would say :D
