Tex-Fest, aka. "Lone Star Burgers and Fives Meet"

Outsiders will be welcomed too, if you want to make the drive.
Non-fivers? Yeah, you can come too.

Thinking of hosting it one of the last weekends in October.

Anyone interested?

I've got a location in mind, but not a date yet.
It'll be planned as a family day trip, but if you want it to be more than that, well, that'll be you and yours to decide.

Just wanting to see if there was enough interest to pull it off.

The location hasn't been totally nailed down yet.
I'm working on a couple of spots that will be somewhere inside the triangle of the 3 major metro areas,
it won't be the exact center, but it'll still be doable for a day event.

Any suggestions?

I will be checking out a venue outside of Rockdale this weekend and if it looks good I'll need to set a date.

It's looking like Sunday the 25th of October at this point.

Got the place, Apache Pass.
134 miles from Houston
142 miles from San Antoino
163 miles from Dallas/Fort Worth
65 miles from Austin

Close enough to everybody for a one day event, so;
If Sunday, October 25th is OK with most, that'll be the date.
Or...
If most would prefer a Saturday, then we can do it on the 24th.
We could even make it into a two dayer with a group drive, etc... if interest dictated.
There is on site camping for tents or RV's and 18 motels beginning within 15 minutes drive time.

I'll need to know within the next few days, a date and proposed number of attendees, in order to secure the Pavilion.
Posting here that intention would be preferred.

Securing the pavilion is going to require a financial commitment from yours truly.
So I'm asking for help in recouping that expense from those who plan to attend.
It'll be divided equally over the group so the more the better.

My schedule looks pretty clear, just not sure which car I'm gonna bring just yet. The 535 appears to have some wiring that worries me quite a bit... more on this later.

As far as I know, that weekend looks open for me. I would typically prefer a Saturday as it gives me and the family a recuperation day after the event but a Sunday would work as well.
